The Crown Diaries

So, This happened. What, you say?

For those of you reading this that don't know me too well, I belong to a Female Veteran's group. But it is more that just a group. We are in this together. We are all unique and can offer each other so much. I have rely on these women to give me strength and security.

We have this crown in our group, and it gets passed to a female veteran each month when we meet for dinner. And how does this happen? With WNY HEROES organization. Go google it and like on FB.

Now, to my thoughts. I am writing this after hanging out with the crown for a full day. I never thought I could be empowered by a shiny thing on my head.

To be honest, the first thing that came to mind when Kris passed the crown to me, was 'I'm the Queen B'. What does that B stand for? My last name? Bold, Beautiful, Boisterous, Bashful, Bonkers, Bodacious. Who knew I knew so many B words. Wow. Then I thought, that is really cheesy. This is not about me. It's about us. All of us. So, these are the CROWN DIARIES. I want to take pictures and document this month as I live life with a crown.

Today I was hesitant to walk around work in a crown. But I did it. I walk into work with a crown atop my head. I stood straighter, I walked taller. I wonder if I will still feel this way next month, when I walk into work without a crown atop my head.

How do we go about life? Do we stand tall. Women need to wear their crowns with pride and confidence. With hope and clarity. With faith and love.
